Beating Broke

I just heard that the interest rate on the etrade high yield savings accounts will be upped to 3.30% as of Wednesday, July 2.  What a great opportunity to open up an account and start on your emergency savings.  Or to move your emergency savings to take advantage of the better rate.  According to the note I got, the interest rate hike will take their 6X claim to 8X the national average.

Pretty incredible really.  Of course, it wasn’t that long ago that we were seeing rates in the 5% range, but we’ll get back there eventually.   Maybe.
