Make and FOLLOW a budget that includes saving!
I try to make sure that anything that I put on my credit card I could pay for with the money in my checking account.
Unless it is a mortgage, do not go into debt!
My rule is not to spend more than I can pay in cash.

My biggest Money Rule is to differentiate between my needs and my wants. Do I need all of the groceries in my basket? Did I add something extra as a treat, and if so how will that little something change my finances for this month?
Keep a little money aside for ‘fun’ purchases. This ensures you can spend a little without breaking the bank.
Definitely spend less than you earn. The most important money rule!
